Robert Cullen
Robert Cullen was born in Liverpool but moved to Limerick where he studied painting for a number of years with the artist Tom Greaney. He then embarked on a degree course at Limerick College of Art and design, and qualified in 2004.He has shown at a number of Group exhibitions in the 75 gallery in Limerick and also at the Hunt Museum. He has received many commissions and his work is in private collections in many different countries.
He is fascinated by photography and exhibits his photographs, but his mains interest is in painting landscapes in oils on canvas. He is intrigued by the unusual rock formations in the Burren and Connemara, and tries in his work to capture the unique sense of environment in these barren environments. His work varies from intimate studies to panoramas.
