thekennygallery.ie - Using Our Site F.A.Q.

Are you having difficulty with our site?
Here are some known issues and their resolutions.

Where did all the artists and exhibitions go?

We're currently in the process of migrating all our artists and past exhibitions over to the new site. As each artist is added, they will be featured on the front page of the site. Don't worry: we'll be bringing everybody across, and making previously hard to find pages easily accessible. Because we'll also be starting relationships with new artists, and holding new exhibitions every month, this process will continue indefinitely, so check back often!

Why are some sections of the page overlapping each other?

Your screen resolution may be too small. This site is designed to be viewed at a minimum resolution of 800x600 pixels, and at a preferred resolution of 1024x768 pixels.
Alternatively, your internet browser may not be built to handle CSS properly. This is an issue with many older browsers, but these can usually be upgraded for free. Click here for further Information on Your Internet Browser.
If you are using an up-to-date browser with a screen resolution of 800x600 or higher and are still experiencing this problem, please use the contact e-mail below.

My computer can't understand "pdf" files.

These are files for Adobe's Acrobat Reader, which can be downloaded for free here.

I'm worried about my transaction not being secure.

Some users may see a pop-up window that says "This page contains both secure and non-secure items. Do you wish to view the non-secure items?" All of your credit card and contact information is encrypted and safe - the only non-secure items on the page are graphics. Please click "Yes" if you see this window.

I'm having difficulty with the shopping cart, but I'm not sure why.

Firstly, please make sure that "cookies" are enabled in your browser. These are files used by many websites to store information. In the case of our site, the books you put in your shopping cart are filed in your cookie until you complete your order.

  • If you are using Internet Explorer, go to "Tools --> Internet Options" and click on the "Privacy" tab. Change your privacy settings to "Medium-High".
  • If you are using Firefox, go to "Tools --> Options" and click on the "Privacy" tab. Click on the "Cookies" section and then the "Exceptions" button. Add the address http://cart.kennys.ie and click the "Allow" button.
  • If you are using Netscape, go to "Tools --> Cookie Manager" while you are in our shopping cart, and click on "Allow cookies from this site".
  • If you are using Opera, go to "Tools --> Cookies", click on "cart.kennys.ie", press "Edit" and make sure that "Accept cookies for server/domain" is ticked.

Alternatively, there may have been some unforseen problem with our cookie. Remove our cookie (this will clear your shopping cart) to start over. This has no effect on orders already placed.
To delete just our cookie in Windows, go to your hard drive (usually the "C"-drive). Go to "Documents and Settings/{YOUR WINDOWS ACCOUNT}/Cookies/", find any cookies with "kennys" in the name, and delete them. (Usually {YOUR WINDOWS ACCOUNT}@cart.kennys[1].txt)
