Wild remote landscape based compositions in oils—Atlantic islands off the West Coast of Ireland, Connemara, Scotland ,Wales, Derbyshire, Arctic Norway etc inform the work….concerned with melancholic and beautiful nature. The sea , mountains and both distance and detail in the landscape inspire work. Paint is poured. layered, veiled….to conjur particular weather conditions and surface qualities. Occasional glimpses of intricacy-a rock, grasses, water ripples emerge within the composition.
