Anne Sheldon
Anne Sheldon was born in Devon but now lives with her family in a large old farmhouse in the heart of Derbyshire. Thirty years ago they bought a tiny tumbledown cottage on the rocky shores of Galway Bay and have been regular visitors ever since.Always interested in art, though choosing to travel rather than study at art school, she has painted as a hobby all her life. Farm diversification has enabled her to design lead rainwater heads, topiary, cross-country courses for horses and self-adhesive labels. Now, at last, she has found time to paint more seriously.
Connemara with its wildness, light and ever-changing moods has been her inspiration.
"In a nutshell - I have no formal art training apart from a few evening classes but have always felt I could paint. Now I have more time and have made myself a little studio.
I just love Connemara and painting in the fresh air - whatever the weather!"
