 Jane Seymour was born in 1954 and grew up on a farm in Wales. Her mother was a potter and illustrator, her father a writer. She ran a small craft gallery where she painted on silk and wood and made clothes, before turning to clay. Entirely self taught. In 1994 Jane moved to Ireland to build a house and ceramic studio. In 1996 she began teaching pottery classes. She has been a practising ceramist for 18 years, specializing in handbuilt smokefired work. Jane teachs pottery skills in handbuilding, decorating and glazing. She also teach feltmaking, glass painting and lino printing.
