Ray Elwood
Ray Elwood was born in Belfast, now lives in Newtownards. He lived in New Zealand, where he was taught by a Dutch Artist, Paul van der Berg.Elwood paints primarily in watercolour and oils. He prefers to paint landscape directly from nature, which explains the pictures being on the smaller scale, for he often rambles for miles with rucksack and easel. His favourite atmosphere is light after rain.
He has won the Percy French Watercolour Competition and has been Highly Commended at the Laing Exhibition. Ray has exhibited at R.U.A. and in a three man show in Canada. He has work in collections in New Zealand, the United States and the U.K.
